Since 2015 the Coalition has followed Dominion Energy’s transmission line projects in Prince William County. It began with the Haymarket transmission line and its State Corporation Commission (SCC) case, including local hearings, route choices and testimony. More recently the focus has been on new transmission lines and substations triggered by data center power needs, such as the Morrisville to Wishing Star 500 & 230 kV upgrade, the Vint Hill gas insulated substation application and the Nokesville/Bristow transmission line.

Below are the Coalition’s own news posts and email blasts on transmission lines, substations, Dominion Energy and energy demand, newest first. Each links to the archived copy on this site.

Latest status (October 2026): On Sept. 22, 2026, the Board of County Supervisors voted 8-0 to deny Dominion Energy’s permit for the Vint Hill switching station expansion on Vint Hill Road in Nokesville. Dominion has since sued the county in Prince William County Circuit Court to overturn the denial (Prince William Times; InsideNoVa). There has been no change on the Nokesville/Bristow transmission line.
