Nokesville Transmission Line threatens homes, farms, and private property
Vida Carroll says: “Our community is being overrun with Data Center Infrastructure – ENOUGH.”
Brentsville, Virginia (July 22, 2026) – The Civic Association of Brentsville & Surrounding Communities (CABSA) will host a press conference/rally to highlight how Data Center-driven extension cords, like the Nokesville 230kV transmission line, harm small working farms and private property.
When: 5:30 pm ET, Thursday, July 23rd

How much more of OUR investments and OUR small businesses, like the working farm, Windy Knolls, will be forever impacted just for the needs of the wealthiest industry in the world. Who is protecting OUR rights to our land?”
“The Nokesville Bristow 230kV transmission line is a poster child of a broken utility system, using our ratepayer money as an ATM to cover the cost of this one industry. It’s bad enough we are at risk of losing our livelihood and our property, but then to have to pay for it? Where is the fairness? But that’s just a symptom of a system that has proven to be coin operated when it’s time to convert residential, agricultural, and forested land to invasive industrial use.”
“Dominion has consistently refused to provide a buried option. Like wack-a-mole, the above-ground transmission line keeps moving around the Nokesville community, with no notice to impacted residents, who are left not knowing where a new route might appear.”
“Carroll noted, “Even our congressman has become involved in speaking out against this threat to our community, advocating for underground transmission lines, paid for by the data centers. Thank you, Congressman Subramanyam, for standing with your constituents.”
