Substation Denied and MORE! Sweeney Barn Event Tickets Still Available

Dear Coalition Friends and Supporters,

When we say never give up, we mean it.  Citizens showed up – prepared with facts AND prepared to advocate from their personal perspectives – and it resonated with the Planning Commission!

The Board of Supervisors is the final vote.  We will keep you apprised of when YOU can step up to be included in making a difference with them.

Here are the Planning Commission decisions:

Diamond Hill Substation – DENIED

Commissioners Carroll and Ross came with the receipts on a significant notice violation and substation noise complaints with audio from the AWS substation in Haymarket.

BRAVO to Commissioners Carroll, Ross, Scheufler, Moses-Nedd, and Sheikh who voted to deny the substation!

Prince William Planning Commission rejects power station plan

Planning commission denies substation for data centers | Localnews | princewilliamtimes.com

In a move that could put controversial data center projects in Bristow on hold, the Prince William County Planning Commission slammed the brakes Wednesday on a large new electrical substation slated to fuel new and existing data centers near Devlin and Linton Hall roads.

AND – All Road incursions into the Rural Crescent – were RECOMMENDED FOR REMOVAL from the 2040 Comp Plan

Thank you to Commissioners Carroll, Ross, Scheufler, Moses-Nedd, Sheik, Sherman!

With the recent choice of Jeannie LaCroix in the Woodbridge Special Election, something has shifted in Prince William County:  We’re not talking about a shift in political ideology:  We’re talking about a shift to local land use focus WITHOUT the influence of big money developer dollars.

All of this truly shows that what is required of ALL of us to make a difference IS showing up, like the citizens did on Wednesday – AND having the votes to make a difference.
