Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters –
Prince William County has agritourism opportunities that preserve important natural and historical resources, while also leveraging real, long-term economic growth for the county. Only if we protect our rural lands from housing sprawl, data center and industrial uses, and energy infrastructure.
In the Gainesville district, Catharpin Valley Estates and the ‘Manassas Preserve’ General Trimbles CPAs will remove those hopes and dreams. In the Brentsville district, it’s sprawl including multiple transmission lines and data centers. NO ONE is driving through suburbia to pick apples or flowers. Everyone understands the journey through rural vistas IS a key aspect of the rural experience.
The real issue is that people in the rural areas need to know and experience that they are valued. If future vision land use planning is orchestrated by outsiders putting together assemblages, we in the rural areas don’t control our destiny, someone else does.
Prince William County has a great model next door in Loudoun. If we want to be successful, we better get the land use part right.
So, show up and speak up at one of these meetings – Tonight, tomorrow, and Wednesday night!!
