Prince William County deserves a future without sprawl

Dear Coalition Supporters and Friends,

How much sprawl — housing and/or data centers — can one county absorb?!

Did you know that portions of Prince William County are not just a critical drinking water resource for the Occoquan Reservoir, but are ALSO critical to the entire Chesapeake Bay Watershed?

We need to grow in ONLY the right places, which means we have to have a plan. We can’t afford business-as-usual developer-driven land use decisions.

It IS possible HERE.  We still have time to make best development practices happen HERE.

This Thursday evening join this powerful presentation on Zoom to hear and learn from an expert!

Data centers, high-density housing, and transmission lines—oh my!

Prince William County’s development is booming—or raging, depending on your perspective. One thing is clear: it’s not sustainable, and the current pattern of growth is eroding our hard-earned smart growth framework. Still, that foundation remains. We just need to strengthen what we have and focus new growth where it makes sense.

Join us for an engaging discussion with Tom Eitler, Founder and President of Urban Development Advisors LLC and former Chief of Long Range Planning for Prince William County (1988–2002), as we explore these questions and more.

Building on our previous Building Better ‘Burbs and Rural Incentives program, and our smart growth vision: The 3Rs for Reaching Our Potential: Reimagine, Reinvest, Redevelop, we’ll look back at the county’s development history, reflect on where we are today, and examine how local and state tools can support reinvestment and help us build thriving communities while we protect our environmental assets and green spaces.
