MONDAY, JAN 2 – Taking the First Step to Real Change

YOU HAVE HAD NO VOICE – THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY!
Take notice of this new date – January 2

The recent resignation of Pete Candland, as a result of his conflicts of interest, provides Gainesville district residents the opportunity to regain our lost voice and elect one that will finally advocate FOR our interests.  Partisan politics has no place in this local election.  WE need the best candidate – and right now.

Considering the damage that has been done in the past year, we need to ensure our new voice is a capable and powerful one, and one ready – out of the gate – to reverse the hostile tide running against the Gainesville district with the current Board of County Supervisors.

With the vice grip Ann Wheeler has around the current Board, we need some alternative strong voices to balance out the Development influence on our decision-makers.  We deserve a voice for the most important stakeholders, the citizens.  At this juncture we need someone representing the Gainesville district with the critical breadth of experience and knowledge.  We need a representative who has been knee deep in this fight and knows all the details.

Regardless of your political affiliation, Gainesville district residents need the best candidate for our future.

In our district, we are experiencing the proliferation of data centers, road expansions, and high-density housing.  We know all too well the impacts of this kind of sprawl directly on our community.  We need representation to stop the industrialization of the Gainesville District, next to our National Parks, next to schools, next to homes, and in our beautiful countryside.

We are facing more transmission line fights, more substations, more overcrowded schools – which result in higher taxes and an overall threat to our quality of life and our biggest investment, our home values.

A person of integrity, honesty, the courage to stand up for what is right, and the knowledge of process, land use, and state statutes, with the ability to hit the ground running, is what is required.

We will need all these characteristics if we hope to mitigate the damage this current Board, under the leadership of Ann Wheeler, is attempting to inflict on the residents of the Gainesville District.

If you care about your quality of life:

Take the time to attend this primary next Monday and bring friends and family members, because we need people to vote – to get someone in that Gainesville seat ready to make a difference.
