Delegate Danica Roem has introduced legislation in this year’s Virginia General Assembly that will protect this community from any future additional overhead power towers along the I-66 hybrid route. There is a risk that Dominion Energy could come back at some point in the future to request additional overhead transmission lines along the newly established Gainesville-Haymarket transmission corridor. We did not fight this hard, for this long, only to end up one day with new overhead towers along the same route where we succeeded to have the first line partially buried underground.
