Dear Coalition Supporters and Friends,
This is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS! We are being inundated by yet more data center energy infrastructure. READ THIS!
With all the data centers being built and approved in our region, the reality is that the expansion of the power corridor between the Morrisville substation in Fauquier County to the new Wishing Star substation in Loudoun County IS a foregone conclusion. AND it IS going to impact Prince William County somewhere.
Dominion keeps on changing its preferred and alternative routes – trying to avoid issues and local opposition (access the info below). But – rest assured – they ARE going to place new or expanded transmission lines and expanded substations through our county to feed the data center industry.
We ALL need to let Dominion know that the ONLY acceptable alternative is to COMPLETELY bury the lines using HVDC: which can be buried in existing Rights of Way (ROW), and WITHOUT needing additional new or expanded substations along the way – ELIMINATING local opposition, saving money and time. AND that the costs MUST be borne by the data center industry, which the expansion is feeding.
It’s time to socialize the infrastructure costs among the data centers for the power demand that they alone are triggering. This is NOT the responsibility of the rest of the ratepayers.
