Residents have been warning for years that the “blast zone” of data center energy demands would expand.
And here we are: The Morrisville to Wishing Star 36-mile Dominion Energy transmission line, traversing through THREE counties, including Prince William. Taking property from homes, farms, American Battlefield Trust Conservation Easement, Manassas National Battlefield Park, Catharpin Park, Broad Run Linear Park near Chris Yung Elementary, and so much more.
While Dominion Energy’s investors and the Data Center industry rake in the money, the community is left bearing the brunt of this “unconstrained” data center growth.
Dominion Energy will claim this massive infrastructure is all about “reliability,” but that is just code for being so underwater from all the contracts Dominion has signed to bring power to the data center industry that the grid is now at risk of violations – which could lead to blackouts throughout communities.
We will raise our voices in opposition to this obscene abuse of our public utility for private financial gain.
