GET OUT THE VOTE RALLY – SEE BELOW
——————-
We understand as the June 20 primary draws near, that the level of propaganda and lies is increasing.
Ken Knarr (Republican), running in opposition to Jeanine Lawson, leaves out the critical detail that he has been worshipping at the feet of (Democrat) Ann Wheeler to ensure he gets his $10 Million dollar “lottery ticket’ as a homeowner with 10 acres within the Digital Gateway application. In truth, he has a significant moral and financial conflict running for PWC Chair.
Chair Ann Wheeler has the audacity to claim an environmental and sustainability record. Her opponent, Deshundra Jefferson, is the candidate who actually earned the endorsement of the Sierra Club.
The Coalition to Protect PWC has no paid staff. We are your neighbors and your community members, who are compelled to share the facts about data center proliferation and their impacts on our homes, our communities, our natural and cultural resources, and our power grid.
We have seen common sense and good governance thrown out the window for greed and arrogance. Do you know the saying “the rot in the fish starts at the head”? That rot in Prince William County is Chair Ann Wheeler.
The importance of primary elections is to ensure the best candidates for the general election. Primary elections usually have very low turnout, which means energized voters can play an outsized role. Thus, your participation can be disproportionately influential over the direction of your government. Considering the looming threat of the industrialization of our county with data center projects such as the Prince William Digital Gateway; Devlin; Potomac Tech Park in the legislative boundary of Prince William Forest Park; and even more like those proposed across the county – we have never before had a primary election as critical to our community as this one.
The way to stop the data center and transmission line industrial proliferation in our county is to defeat Chair Ann Wheeler. If Wheeler stays in office, she is dedicated to ensuring these project approvals will only increase. The most expedient way to “fire” Ann Wheeler is to support challenger Deshundra Jefferson and deny Wheeler’s renomination in the June 20th Democratic primary. We can be sure that Wheeler’s term as Chair will end if we turn out in force and help to secure a win for Deshundra on June 20. This will ensure that Wheeler is not on the ballot in the November election and will have no way to be re-elected.
Virginia has no party registration, so voters can participate in whichever party’s primary they deem most consequential. But you must choose either a Democratic or a Republican ballot to vote in the primary. However – you are not obligated or restricted to voting for the same party in the general election.
The desired outcome of the June 20th primary would be for Deshundra Jefferson (Democrat) and Jeanine Lawson (Republican) to emerge victorious, and then to face each other in the November general election for the Chair seat. This way voters will have the advantage of being able to choose between two better candidates based on issues, rather than ethics. Either of these two choices can help pivot the Board to fair and effective decision-making. You will be able to vote for either party candidate in the November election.
Accomplishing a Deshundra Jefferson win in the Democratic primary election depends on HEAVY turnout.

It is hard to keep up with all the news. So, to that end, we want to include some critical updates. This county is in chaos because of Ann Wheeler’s incompetence. We will continue to say, we are ONE Prince William County. We will rise, or fall, together.
“Between 2017 and 2021, roughly 94 American football fields worth of data centers were built in this area, and more are on their way. In late 2021 two developers put a proposal before the county board for a hub of data centers that would cover 27m sq ft, known as the “Digital Gateway”.
“Instead of diverting this flood away from history, American heritage spots, schools and neighborhoods – we’re getting mowed over,” said Pearsall.”
“PJM Interconnection, the organization that coordinates electricity transmission in 13 states and Washington, DC, warned in a February report that “the proliferation of high-demand data centers in the region” is driving an unsustainable growth in energy demand.”
“According to the report, that increase — coupled with the retirement of older power generation facilities, supply chain problems and waitlist issues for additional renewable energy facilities — will perpetuate the problem of regional energy needs “outpacing the construction of new resources.”
