Devlin Technology Park Vote DEFERRED

“After hearing from about 80 people who voiced nearly universal opposition to the proposed Devlin Technology Park due to concerns about living near a “noisy concrete jungle,” the Prince William Board of County Supervisors voted unanimously early Wednesday morning to defer until March 7 a decision on the new data center campus slated for Bristow.”

“…“Leaders do not compromise with wrong, and this proposal is wrong,” (Kevin) Smith, (president of the Sheffield Manor HOA) said. “Anything less than an unanimous vote to deny the proposal is a neglect of duty and a misuse of office against the residents of the Brentsville District.”

“…This is the tipping point for me,” (Brentsville Supervisor Jeanine) Lawson said. “The applicant has not been able to meet the satisfaction of the people I represent. And with that, I’m just not able to support a project of data centers there, and I move for denial for that reason.”

By mail –  Postmarked by Tuesday, February 21 and received by Friday, February 24 at 12:00 pm

How to Vote by Mail

1. Apply to receive a ballot by mail.  You can opt to receive a ballot by mail for just one election or for every election.

2. Your ballot is automatically sent to you.  Ballots are mailed 45 days prior to an election or after approval of your application, if inside the 45-day window (and before the application deadline).

3. Mark your voting choices on your ballot.

4. Complete the Statement and have a witness sign it. 

5. Seal your ballot in the envelope.  Watch our video to see how to seal it properly.

6. Return your ballot by mail or at a drop box at a voting location.

Ways to Apply to Vote by Mail:

1. Apply online through the Virginia Department of Elections with your state-issued ID

2. Download the application to email, mail, fax, or drop off your application

3. Pick up an application at our office at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1 (Manassas) or at any Prince William County Library.

Ways to Return Your Ballot

1. By Mail – Must be postmarked by Election Day (and received by the following Friday at noon).

2. At our Office – Drop your ballot in the drop box at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1 (Manassas) by 7pm on Election Day.

3. At a Drop Box – All early voting locations and Election Day polling places have drop boxes you can use.
